Lockdown will last as long as necessary - Buhari tells Nigerians President Muhammadu Buhari has affirmed that the lockdown order will last as long as his 'scientific advisers' declare they are necessary. In a statement released by Presidential spokesperson Garba Shehu, Buhari who acknowledged the efforts of Nigerians as well as the sacrifices made during the stay at home period, stated that the lockdown is a major attempt to curb the spread of Coronavirus in the country.  He said;  “We realize that today, there will be sons and daughters unable to visit their parents, and elders that are isolated from young ones. Man arrested for poisoning 143 bags of garden eggs in Enugu The Enugu State Police Command has arrested one Okonkwo Sunday for reportedly emptying a can of a suspected toxic liquid substance on about 143 bags of garden eggs worth N729, 000.00 at Akwata sub-market of the Ogbete Main Market. The 52-year-old man was arrested on April 8, after a complaint was filed at the Central Police Station in the state.  Investigation to ascertain the real motive(s) of the suspect as well as apprehend and prosecute accomplice to the crime is ongoing at the State CID. Churches not places of infection but places of blessing - Pastor Chris says as he supports relaxation of lockdown order for churches to reopen  Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has reacted to the decision of some state governors to relax the lockdown order in their states for churches to celebrate Easter. While preaching on Friday April 10th, Pastor Chris said the church is not a place of infection but rather a place of blessings. He prayed against anyone coming to church and getting infected.  The clergyman who last week said the lockdown in Lagos and Abuja was for the Federal government to install 5G network in the state, said any wise government knows not to trouble the church. The best thing in any government is to always leave the church alone. It is always the best thing. The wisest leader understands that. They leave the church alone. Young nursing mother commits suicide in Akwa Ibom due to problems in her marriage A young nursing mother has reportedly committed suicide due to problems in her marriage. Mrs. Esther Frank, from Anambra state, is said to have consumed a poisonous substance in Uyo Akwa Ibom state. Before consuming the substance, she left a suicide note for her husband that reads: "Please take care of my children please. I can’t take the pressure and lies you are telling again. I can’t take it, please its too much. You made everyone around me to hate me." To her children, she wrote: "Please forgive me, I am sorry. Gerald please forgive me. Andre please forgive me. You guys are my life." The mother, in her early 30s, was rushed by neighbours to St Luke’s Hospital in Anua, Uyo, where she was confirmed dead. 5G is not spreading Coronavirus - WHO The World Health Organization (WHO) has countered claims of 5G spreading Coronavirus in countries around the world.  Recall that the claim gained prominence after being propagated by some influential persons across different sectors.  In a statement released on Friday April 10, WHO stated that virus is being transmitted through respiratory droplets of an infected person who coughs, sneezes or speaks and cannot travel on radio waves/mobile networks. The International health organization also disclosed that Coronavirus is spreading in many countries that does not have 5G mobile networks. Dozens of bodies buried in mass grave on New York's Hart Island as Coronavirus death toll rises Workers wearing hazmat suits were seen burying caskets in a mass grave on New York's Hart Island. This comes as the number of burials quadruples amid the coronavirus pandemic and the city's death toll rises to 4,778.   A dozen contracted labourers were seen digging and burying the caskets - some of which had names carved on them - on Thursday, April 9. The city has used Hart Island to bury New Yorkers with no known next of kin or whose family are unable to arrange a funeral since the 19th century.  Typically, about 25 bodies are buried there once a week byRikers Island jail inmates. That number began increasing last month as the new Coronavirus spread rapidly and New York became the epicenter of the pandemic.  They are now burying about two dozen bodies a day, five days a week, DailyMail.com reports.
