Coronavirus: Wedding ceremony of Jigawa Governor's nieces attended by only 7 people (photos)





The wedding ceremony of Naseeba Badaru and Fatima Badaru Abubakar, nieces of Governor of Jigawa State Muhammed Badaru, was attended by only seven people in compliance with measures enforced by authorities to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The governor’s media aide, Auwal Sankara disclosed that the wedding ceremonies of Umar Murtala Adamu and Naseeba Badaru Abubakar and also Najib Usman Shehu and Fatima Badaru Abubakar was held at the Governors residence in Kano state. 

He further revealed that only 7 people attended the event as the state had earlier restricted large gatherings of people in a bid to curb the spread of the disease.

Sankara said; 

The Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has today gives out his nieces for marriage while observing social distance and the maximum limit of nine participants in a wedding ceremony.
The wedding which took place in the Governors residence in Kano state sees to Umar Murtala Adamu and Naseeba Badaru Abubakar and also Najib Usman Shehu and Fatima Badaru Abubakar tying the knot as man and wife without much crowd.
Recall, that the state government has ordered the suspension of all ceremonies except for marriage which is limited to few individuals which include three representatives from both sides of the family.
However, the Governor is leading from the front as all measures are being observed in the process of the marriage of one of his own.
Remember, the only vaccine for this pandemic is practicing personal hygiene with regular hand washing, and social distancing.
